What is this service?

The DOT requires all CDL drivers and owner-operators to participate in a drug and alcohol testing program. This service helps you enroll in a DOT-compliant Drug and Alcohol Consortium, which manages your random testing obligations, maintains your compliance records, and ensures you are meeting FMCSA requirements under 49 CFR Part 382.

Who needs it?

All owner-operators with a CDL operating a commercial motor vehicle are required to participate in a DOT drug and alcohol testing program. Motor carriers with CDL drivers must also have a compliant program in place. This is mandatory — not optional.

What happens if they do not file or comply?

Operating a CDL vehicle without being enrolled in a compliant drug and alcohol program is a federal violation. During a DOT audit, this is one of the first things an auditor checks. Failure to have a program in place can result in a failing safety rating, fines, and immediate out-of-service orders for your drivers.

How much do you charge?

Our Drug & Alcohol Consortium enrollment assistance is $149. Actual consortium membership fees, testing fees, and any required SAP services are paid separately and are not included in this fee.
